About GIBC

Launched in 2018 December, GIBC was & still is India’s most exclusive ballet competition.

This all India competition is organised by Mumbai’s Indian Ballet Boutique IBB to promote & strengthen the Indian ballet community worldwide.

Over the years, our jury has welcomed many international faces from USA, UK, Sweden, Croatia, South Africa, Serbia, Japan, Singapore & Spain. While GIBC’s deserving winners are gifted with international training scholarships, a first of it’s kind for India.

2022

Back to offline after two years, with the largest participation of 120 dancers. From Canada’s National Ballet to National Ballet Academy New York, GIBC 5 gave away some of the best scholarships yet. A special masterclass was taught by Josef Brown from The Australian Ballet.

2021

GIBC 4 was held online yet again with FREE participation. Sharing this platform with 100+ participants from across the globe like Malaysia, Singapore, Egypt, Indonesia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, India, etc. Special pointe shoe seminars & a ballet masterclass.

2020

India’s first ever ONLINE ballet competition with approximate 50 participants. Online International scholarships from Moscow, London & Africa. FREE participation with no registration fees to  support the Indian ballet community during the pandemic.

Received 100+ participants across India, with winners given scholarships to Germany, Vienna, South Africa & Serbia. Special ballet talk seminar by India’s prominent ballet
professionals.

2018

Launched in 2018 December. In it’s first year, GIBC welcomes 75 participants across India. Special ballet  workshop by Serbian Ballerina Ms. Gavrilovic.

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students’ technique by focussing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to assist with injury prevention and rehabilitation. PBT helps teachers around the world prepare their students to receive the strength they need to achieve their personal best. The program is designed with safe dance methodology to promote a long, healthy career and is now being taught by over 4000+ certified teachers worldwide and over 3500 schools globally have added PBT classes in their curriculum for students.
PBT founder, Marie Walton-Mahon shall be conducting the workshops & training for the first time in India.
